NEW YORK – Kyra Sedgwick is going back to school.

The Emmy Award-winning actress will be starring in John Patrick Shanley’s new play “The Danish Widow” on the campus of Vassar College this summer.

“The Closer” star will play an insurance investigator in Shanley’s play, which will run from July 16-27. It will also star Broadway veterans Craig Bierko and Matt McGrath, as well as stage and screen actress Annika Boras.

The Powerhouse Theater program at Vassar attracts writers, directors and actors eager to develop new works 70 miles north of Manhattan.

The season also includes Richard Greenberg’s “The Babylon Line,” David Lindsay-Abaire’s “Ripcord” and a large-scale dance ensemble performing “In Your Arms.”
