J.F.K. Post 377 American Legion in California will hold Memorial Day services beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the memorial in Daisytown. Coal Center will follow at 9 a.m., and the Civil War Memorial at 9:30. An awards ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at Liberty Circle. An open house with food and refreshments will be held at the Legion after the wreath presentation at the warf.

Genealogical Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania will meet at 2 p.m. June 7 at Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington. Janet Mancini, author of “Finding My Life Through the Children’s Home,” will speak. For more information, call 724-222-2400.
