Holiday open house, sponsored by Friends of Bowlby Public Library, will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The open house will feature the Friends’ Cookie Walk/Cookie Raffle. Cookies cost $3 per dozen in a box or $5 per dozen in a Christmas tin provided. Pictures with Santa also will be held. Cost is $10 for two 5-by-7 photos. Holiday story time will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., and raffle tickets are on sale for a Cookie Basket, which is filled with 12 different cookie-filled tins, and a Children’s Christmas Basket, filled with toys, games and books. Cost is $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets. All proceeds will benefit the library.
Stuffed Animal Sleepover will be held Wednesday. At 5 p.m., a special holiday story time will begin. After story time and a craft, children can leave their stuffed animals for the night. Animals can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday.
Christmas Around the World will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Members of Waynesburg University’s Kappa Delta Pi are inviting children in kindergarten through high school to stop by the library to learn how other countries celebrate the Christmas season through stories. Refreshments and hot cocoa will be served. Call the library to register.
Children’s and Family Literacy departments will host an After Hours Holiday Pajama Party from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 12. A holiday movie will be shown, and there will be games, seasonal crafts and activities. Warm cookies and milk also will be served. Call the library to register.
