Locally produced independent film “Croaker” is available in area Giant Eagle Stores.

McMurray filmmaker Fred Terling said the DVD went through a two-month review process before hitting store shelves.

It is available at six area stores: Trinity Point, Donaldson’s Crossroads, Market District near South Hills Village, South Fayette, Leetsdale and the Southside store in Pittsburgh.

The film is about the relationship of four friends and two brothers who are victims of a 15th-century curse. The curse unleashes a monster from Slavic folklore, the Vodnik.

The country sheriff has doubts about the brothers, and instead thinks there is a more ominous reason for the disappearance of some of the town’s residents.
