Old Economy Village will open its 19th-century Christmas village from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Christmas at the Village features a host of events, including area choirs that will be performing in the Feast Hall. Geneva College, the Beaver Area Chamber Choir and several high school choirs will perform.

The 22 vendors will provide, among other items, toys, handmade jewelry, wood carvings, soaps, fused glass, candles, original art, scarves, pastel paintings and ornaments. There also will be jams and jellies, fudge, candy, cookies and wine.

In addition, there will be crafts for children, a scavenger hunt and Belsnickel, the Pennsylvania Dutch Santa Claus helper.

A variety of soups, strudel, roasted chestnuts, hot cider, hot chocolate and coffee will be for sale.

All the buildings have been decorated to resemble a typical 19th-century village. Interpreters and craft demonstrators will be able to provide historic background on the Harmony Society.

Tickets may be purchased the day of the event at the Old Economy Village Visitor Center. Cost is $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and $6 for 3- to 11-year-olds. Admission is free for children younger than 3 and active military personnel.
