Medicare 101 program at Peters Township library
Peters Township Public Library will offer a program on Medicare 101 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Adele Dean, regional APPRISE coordinator, will speak about Medicare and the APPRISE program. She will screen participants for assistance programs, such as PACE/PACENET, Extra Help and the Medicare Savings Program. The session will provide detailed information about Medicare’s annual open enrollment period.
Medicare provides benefits, such as the health insurance program, for people 65 and older, people under 65 with certain disabilities, and people of any age with end-stage renal disease, permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant. APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help older Pennsylvanians with Medicare.
The program is free, but registration is required by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org or calling 724-941-9430.
