Seventeen scholarships were awarded through the 2016 Washington County 4-H Scholarship Fund Saturday at the Washington County Fair 4-H & FFA Livestock Sale. Renee Dickson, president of the 4-H advisory committee, presented the $2,000 scholarship awards to:

Tyler Brezinski of HG Parkinson FFA. He is studying youth ministry at Liberty University. His parents are Jeff and Jen Brezinski.

Amanda Cole of Pike Run 4-H Club. She is majoring in art education at California University of Pennsylvania. Her mother is Kay Cole.

Sarah Dombrowski of West Alexander Clover Club. She is studying biology at Chatham University. Her parents are George and Diane Dombrowski.

Brooke Dorsey of West Alexander Ag & McGuffey FFA. She is majoring in business management and marketing at West Liberty University. Her parents are Scott and Susanne Dorsey.

Jacob Durila of West Alexander Ag. He is studying business management and marketing at Robert Morris University. His parents are Paul and Robin Durila.

Jacob Ford of Heart & Home. He is majoring in environmental studies at California University of Pennsylvania. His mother is Kathe Ford.

Garret Guthrie of Ten Mile 4-H Club. He is studying mathematics at Waynesburg University. His parents are Glenn and Carol Guthrie.

Kennedy Hamilton of Buffalo Ag. She is majoring in equine-facilitated therapeutics at Wilson College. Her mother is Juanita Hamilton.

Dustin Henke of Cross Creek Ag. He is studying plastics engineering at Penn State University. His parents are Dana Brown and Kelly Henke.

Issac Jones of Heart & Home and Frazier Simplex. He is studying Christian ministries and business at Word of Life in New York. His parents are Mark and Wendy Jones.

Mikayla Lunardini of South Franklin Morris. She is majoring in marketing and management at Penn State University. Her parents are Jeff and Rita Ross and Steve and Christina Lunardini.

Hannah Lynch of Ginger Hill 4-H. She is studying biology/pre-med at West Liberty University. Her parents are Jeff and Christa Lynch.

Matthew McDonald of HG Parkinson FFA. He is majoring in public relations at Westminster College. His parents are James and Shari McDonald.

Michaela Rohaley of Glyde Ag. She is majoring in environmental studies at California University of Pennsylvania. Her parents are Michael and Brenda Rohaley.

Brittney Ross of Glyde Ag and Brush Run. She is studying business management and marketing at Penn State Fayette – the Eberly Campus. Her parents are Jim and Darlene Ross.

Jody Schinkovec of Ten Mile 4-H. He is majoring in environmental science at Thiel College. His parents are William and Deborah Schinkovec.

Glory Warnock of Hickory Ag. He is studying to be a physical therapist assistant at California University of Pennsylvania. Her parents are David and Nora Warnock.

Scholarships are given annually to 4-H’ers and FFA members to help with the expenses for advanced education. To apply, members must complete one year in an institution of higher learning. Scholarship winners can receive the award only once. Financial support comes from the Washington County Fair 4-H & FFA livestock buyers and the West Alexander Fair 4-H and livestock buyers. Donations also are received from 4-H alumni and friends of 4-H.
