‘Chef’s Best’ kicks off restaurant week
The Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency will celebrate Washington County Restaurant Week March 7-13.
The event was created to highlight Washington County’s premier dining destinations as well as showcase the county’s food, restaurants and chefs.
Washington County Restaurant Week will begin with a “Chef’s Best Dish” competition from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 3 at The Meadows Casino.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to sample food prepared by the area’s finest chefs, and at the end of the evening, they will vote on Washington County’s “Best Dish.” Last year, more than 430 people attended the “Chef’s Best Dish” event.
In addition, Kristin Butterworth, who is the Chef de Cuisine of Lautrec at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, will speak. Butterworth has been a featured chef at the James Beard House in New York City twice and has received the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards from 2011 to 2015. She is the world’s youngest female chef at the helm of a Forbes Five Diamond and AAA Five Diamond restaurant.
