NPR’s Renee Montagne leaving ‘Morning Edition’ anchor chair
WASHINGTON (AP) – National Public Radio said longtime “Morning Edition” host Renee Montagne is vacating the program’s anchor chair after the November presidential election but will remain with the network.
Montagne spent 12 years on the early morning shift, working out of NPR’s studios in Culver City, Calif. In an article posted on its website, she called the schedule “unsustainable.”
NPR said Montagne will continue as a special correspondent on “Morning Edition.”
NPR vice president of news programming Christopher Turpin said the network plans to name a replacement.
