Washington & Jefferson to host free concerts

Washington & Jefferson College will host the following free concerts:

• The W&J Jazz Ensemble will celebrate the rich musical history of funk, gospel, and R&B at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Olin Fine Arts Center. Iconic pieces like Cannonball Adderley’s “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy” and Herbie Hancock’s “Watermelon Man” will be performed.

• The W&J Wind Ensemble spring concert will feature pianist Karolina Syrovatkova at 3 p.m. April 9 in Olin Fine Arts Center. The show will showcase both old classics and newer contemporary music.
