Lance Lawrence, son of Jeff and Beth Lawrence of Finleyville, graduated from U.S. Marine Corps basic training at Parris Island, S.C. He is a 2013 graduate of Ringgold High School and will be doing Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, N.C.
Air Force Airman Nicholas J. Spudich graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Spudich is a 2010 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and his parents are Michael Spudich of Coal Center and Anna Scholler of Washington.
Navy Lt. Sarah L. Anderson graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. Anderson received a medical degree and was commissioned to the rank of captain with a minimum seven-year active duty service commitment. She is a physician assigned to the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Anderson is a 2005 graduate of West Allegheny High School and a 2009 graduate of Penn State University. She has served in the military for four years. Her parents are Joyce Anderson of Imperial and Charles Anderson of Waynesburg.
