Iams – 60 years
Isaac and Ruth Iams of Amity celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and surprise gathering of family and friends August 3 at the home of their son and family.
The couple were married August 2, 1952, at the home of the bride’s parents in Roney’s Point, W.Va., with the Rev. Curtis D. Watkins officiating.
Their children are William (Judy) Iams, James (Mary) Iams and Richard Iams, all of Amity, and the late David Iams.
They have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A great-granddaughter died in infancy.
Mr. Iams served with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1953 through 1955. Upon his return, he became the fifth generation to live on the family farm. Mr. Iams was an Amwell road supervisor for 46 years and Washington County constable for 40 years.
Mrs. Iams was an Amwell Township secretary for 26 years.
Both are members of North Ten Mile Baptist Church.
