Melvin and Carolyn Shoup of Washington will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 1 to 5 p.m. May 10 at Christian Bible Fellowship, 15 Middle Way, Washington. They also took a Caribbean cruise.

The couple were married March 18, 1964, in Central Presbyterian Church, Washington

Mr. and Mrs. Shoup have two sons, Todd (Robin) Shoup and Eric (Tammy) Shoup, both of Washington.

Their grandchildren are Brooklyn, Hudson, Keely, Lexi, Fallyn, Zechariah, Noah, Rebekah and Terah Shoup, Jarred Lily and Katie Odum.

Mr. Shoup retired from Industrial Gasket & Shim in 2008 with 47 years of service. He is a member of the Washington Camera Club, Antique Auto Club of AMC Covered Bridge Division and is on the Cornerstone Ministry Center Board.

Mrs. Shoup has worked with the Release Time Bible program of Washington County for 38 years.

Both are members of Christian Bible Fellowship Church and actively involved with the Release Time Bible program and the summer camp programs at the Cornerstone Ministry Center. They enjoy traveling.
