Shearer – 70 years
Richard and Eva Shearer of Washington will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary by going out to dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Shearer were married September 1, 1944, in the bride’s home in Worthington.
Their children are Jeffrey (Brenda) Shearer of Bloomsburg and Jean (Matthew) Lucas of Washington.
Their grandchildren are Joseph and Sean Shearer, Rebecca and Nicolle Weaver and Chloe Shearer.
They also have three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Shearer owned and operated Shearer Heating from 1948 to 1991, when he sold it to the current owner. He is a past president of the Washington Lions Club and enjoys working on club projects.
Mr. and Mrs. Shearer have been members of First Lutheran Church since 1950 and have delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.
