Samuel A. Lombardo has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after successfully completing the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Waynesburg University. Lombardo will be branched to a specific corps in the Army to serve on active duty or in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve. He is a 2009 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and his parents are John and Debbie Lombardo of Canonsburg.

Ryan E. Walters has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after successfully completing the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Waynesburg University. Walters will be branched to a specific corps in the Army to serve on active duty or in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve. He is a 2009 graduate of Greater Latrobe High School.

Army Pfc. Mark Workman, son of Ann Bell of Wind Ridge, graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Workman is a 2008 graduate of Brownsville High School.
