Army Pvt. Josephine M. Tarquino graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Tarquino is a 2014 graduate of California Area Senior High School, and her mother is Tami J. Tarquino of Coal Center.

Marine Private Evan N. Yoest, son of Chris and Maria Yoest of Claysville, graduated from boot camp Nov. 21 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training as one of 90 recruits in Training Platoon 2089. While in training, Private Yoest achieved rifle sharp shooter. He recently reported to Camp LeJeune, Jacksonville, N.C., for more training. Yoest is a 2014 graduate of McGuffey High School.
