Air Force Reserve Airman Alexander J. Hurley graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Hurley is a 2013 graduate of Fort Cherry High School, and his parents are William and Jeanne Hurley of Hickory.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Alyssa Shrump, an aviation ordnanceman at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va., has completed a three-week live ammunition training at Naval Air Station Fallon in Fallon, Nev., and a four-week training operation aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. Shrump is a 2011 graduate of Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Accreditation Agency, and her parents are Chuck and Debby Shrump of Washington.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Andrew Shrump, an aviation electrician’s mate, was detached from his squadron at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Wash., to Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan. He also earned his second Good Conduct Medal. Shrump is a 2006 graduate of Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Accreditation Agency, and his parents are Chuck and Debby Shrump of Washington.
