Air Force Medical Corps Capt. Jordan C. Humphrey, son of Eric and Debbie Ends Cowden of Hickory and Sam and Angie Humphrey of Parsons, W.Va., has received his medical degree from the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey. Humphrey was promoted to the rank of captain upon graduation. While attending medical school, Humphrey performed research in the emergency department at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Aerospace Medicine at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas. Humphrey plans to continue his training as a resident physician at Penn State Hershey Medical Center for one year before returning to the Air Force to pursue a career in Aerospace Medicine. He is a 2006 graduate of Avella High School and a 2009 graduate of Duquesne University.

Air Force Airman Joshua M. Klaus, son of Billie Lawhorne of Washington, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Klaus is a 2013 graduate of Trinity High School.
