Scott Day of Cary, N.C., son of Bob and Charlotte Day of Washington, has been promoted to major in the North Carolina National Guard. Day is a 1995 graduate of Trinity High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State University and a master’s degree in trust and wealth management from Campbell University in North Carolina. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 and Kuwait in 2012. Day is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant, and is an accounting manager in the global services division of IBM in Raleigh.

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Lance Oskey, a 1993 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, was promoted to colonel during a ceremony in the Kara Alumni House at Cal U. Oskey began his military career in 1993 when the former ROTC cadet was commissioned a second lieutenant.

James H. Todd of Washington graduated from basic training in Fort Benning, Ga. His mother is Kimberly DeMotte of Washington. Todd is a senior at Trinity High School.
