Jobes – 50 years
Willard and Janet Jobes of Claysville celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner at the Double Tree, Meadow Lands, hosted by their son, Shane, and his wife, Diana, along with friends and family. They also took a trip to Hawaii with Shane and Diana, who were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Jobes were married June 5, 1965, at Claysville United Methodist Church.
Their children are Shane and Diana Jobes of Claysville and Kirk and Jackie Jobes of Pulaski, Va.
Their grandchildren are Kate, Colton and Kyle Jobes and Savana and Ethan Jobes.
Mr. Jobes was employed for 42 1/2 years at Municipal Mutual Insurance Co. in Wellsburg, W.Va., beginning as an accountant and retiring in 2008 as president. Mrs. Jobes was a legal secretary in Washington for many years and baked and decorated specialty cakes while raising the children.
