Lawton – 70 years
Henry and Mary Lawton, formerly of Canonsburg, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a surprise party June 28 given by Southminster Presbyterian Home staff, Madeline Corwin and family, followed by a dinner with family at a local restaurant.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawton were married June 29, 1946, in the Little Church Around the Corner in New York City, N.Y., with the Rev. Randolph Ray officiating.
Their children are Ed (Karen) Feeney, Raymond (Sally) Lawton, Meridy (Leon) Koceski and Elaine (Joseph) Walbeck.
They have 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lawton served on the USS Pennsylvania in World War II. He worked at Canonsburg Pottery and McPeake Printing, and was a bus driver for the Canon-McMillan School District.
Mrs. Lawton worked for Morganza and Mayview state hospitals.
