The California Area Historical Society will take a Faith, Hope & History Tour of the Laurel Highlands area Oct. 10.

The tour will begin with a tour of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Historic Brownsville. The old stone church, constructed in 1845 in the Gothic Revival style, was to be destroyed, but the Rev. Martin J. Brennan bonded with the poor members of the congregation and convinced the diocese that if it would fee the congregation during the Depression, they would restore the church.

The tour also will include a visit to the Flight 93 Museum & Memorial in Stoystown, followed by a stuffed chicken breast meal with dessert and beverage at Seven Springs Mountain Resort and stops at the Lenox Factory Outlet and Sand Hill Berries in Mt. Pleasant for a slice of seasonal fruit pie with ice cream.

Cost is $85 per person, and the bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. from Center in the Woods in Brownsville.

For more information, call the California Area Historical Society at 724-938-3250.
