Peters Township Recreation Center will hold Parents Night Out from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Parents needing to do last minute shopping or time to them can drop of their children for a night of gym games, crafts and pizza. Wear gym shoes. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Houston and Chartiers Township volunteer fire departments are asking members of the community to help fill their fire trucks this holiday season with new and unwrapped toys for the less fortunate. Toys will be distributed in partnership with Allison Park Elementary’s “Secret Santa” program. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Toys should be dropped off at the Houston station, 14 E. McNutt St., or the Chartiers Twp. station, 2450 W. Pike St, Houston.
The Food Bank needs help at Calvin U.P. Church, 307 Spring St., Brownsville, at 8:30 a.m. Friday to unload and help is needed again to distribute the food at 9:15 a.m. Dec. 16. Food distribution begins at 10 a.m.
A live nativity will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 15 and 16 at West Alexander First Christian Church, 124 Main St., West Alexander. The nativity is sponsored by Dutch Fork Christian Church, Claysville, and First Christian Church, West Alexander.
