Garden club creates arrangements for seniors
The Martha Washington Garden Club carries on the tradition of making small Christmas arrangements for nursing home residents, shut-ins and hospice patients. Several years ago, Mary Dobich, who organizes the event, brought the tradition to the club from her previous garden club in New Jersey. Members bring greenery, coffee mugs and Christmas decorations to make the arrangements. Twenty-two members gathered at Laboratory Presbyterian Church and created more than 120 arrangements in two hours. Afterward, they shared a pot luck lunch. Members will deliver the arrangement to various locations.
