Children’s author to visit library
Author and illustrator Zachariah OHora will visit Frank Sarris Public Library, Canonsburg, on April 10 with his book, “My Cousin Momo,” the Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child selection.
The story is about acceptance. Momo, a flying squirrel, arrives for a visit with his cousins, but he isn’t what they expected.
The Pennsylvania One Book program, in its 13th year, highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers and the significance of reading early and often to children. One Book provides adults with ways to engage children in activities that explore the story. These activities have been shown to enhance early learning and help children be prepared for school.
As part of the program, traveling trunks, filled with puppets and games, help expand upon concepts in the book.
