Clark – 102 years
Muriel (Withrow) Clark of Claysville will celebrate her 102nd birthday Sunday with family and a few slices of banana cream pie.
She was born April 15, 1916, in Canonsburg, the oldest of six children. She lived most of her life in the Canonsburg/Houston area until four years ago, when she moved in with extended family.
Her husband is the late Carter Ray Clark. Her first husband, Quentin Baumgartel, died in World War II, four years after the couple married.
She has two sons, Kenneth Clark and Rick Clark.
She also has two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clark worked most of her life. Her first job was at a hat shop in Washington. She also worked at Bobbie Brooks in Washington until its closing. She drove into her 90s.
She enjoys watching the birds, playing cards and visiting with her grandchildren.
