Peters Township Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a drug take-back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at four locations: Rite Aid Pharmacy, 4185 Washington Road; Giant Eagle (Donaldson’s Crossroads), 4017 Washington Road; Heisler’s Market, 601 E. McMurray Road; and The Country Store, 698 Venetia Road. Accepted will be expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps; only pills and patches. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Washington County Firemen’s Association will hold its regular monthly meeting at 8 p.m. Saturday at Cecil No. 3 Volunteer Fire Department, 186 Muse Bishop Road, Muse.

The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania will hold its fourth annual Comedy for a Cause to benefit the organization’s free patient support services. The event will be held Saturday at the Sokol Club Banquet Hall, 2912 E. Carson St., South Side. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 7 followed by the show at 8. In addition to entertainment from three acclaimed comedians – headliner John Evans, feature comic Jeff Konkle and emcee Mike Sasson – the evening will feature silent and live auctions of autographed sports memorabilia and other prizes, a basket raffle and more. Claysville Volunteer Fire Department presents Touch-a-Truck from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the McGuffey High School lower lot, 86 McGuffey Drive, Claysville. Kids can explore vehicles from Claysville and surrounding fire departments, state police, tractors, tractor-trailers, dump trucks and more. There will be food vendors and sponsor booths during the free event.

An after-school chess program is held at South Fayette and Bridgeville public libraries. On Mondays at South Fayette library, Beginner Chess Club meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., for children in grades K-8. Experienced Chess Club meets from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., for children in grades K-8. On Tuesdays at the Bridgeville library, Beginner Chess Club meets from 6 to 7 p.m. with the Experienced Chess Club meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. A half-hour of instruction led by chess master Eric Berthoud will be followed by a half-hour of game play. Participants must attend at least six of the eight evening sessions to be eligible for the tournament, which is held in the ninth week.
