The Women of St. Benedict will hold its “Gigantic Garage Sale” Thursday through Saturday at St. Benedict the Abbot Church located at 120 Abington Drive, McMurray. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. A variety of special sales will take place Friday and a $5 bag sale will be held Saturday. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds benefit St. Benedict the Abbot and Women of St. Benedict activities and charities.

Spirits in the Garden, an annual event combining distilled spirits with the spirits of Washington County’s past, will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 31 in Madeleine’s Garden at the LeMoyne House, 49 East Maiden Street, Washington. Enjoy tastings from local distilleries, wineries and breweries, and mingle with some of the region’s most notable historic figures. This year’s event is held in celebration of the 175th birthday of Madeleine LeMoyne Reed, “First Lady of Washington.” Tickets are $40.
