Wild Things to host Hard Rock Tribute
The Washington Wild Things announced that the ballpark will host Forty’s Hard Rock Tribute Festival on Sept. 23. The daylong festival gets underway at noon and concludes at 11 p.m.
“We’ve done many concerts over the years,” said Wild Things’ Vice President and General Manager Steven Zavacky. “This is the first time this genre has performed here, and we’re looking forward to it.”
The festival will feature several bands including Budderside, a hard rock group out of Hollywood, Calif., that will perform new music from an upcoming CD they intend to release soon. Silk9, another rock group, is from the Pittsburgh area.
“This festival is for those young and older, who love and enjoy hard-hitting rock music … the music they grew up with,” said Rob Merashoff, the festival organizer and owner of Forty Bar & Grille. “The tribute-band portion of the festival ensures that attendees will hear all of their favorite tunes by talented bands that pay tribute to Metallica, Def Leopard, AD/DC, Van Halen, Motley Crue and Poison.”
There also will be several local rock bands, and Lily Sixx the VJ of Rock Rage Radio will emcee the festival.
Ticket prices range from $50 to $15. Kids 10 and under are free.
