The 36th annual Mason-Dixon Frontier Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Mason-Dixon Park in Monongalia Park, W.Va. Admission to the festival and an open-air church service will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Wanda Brosky. For directions to the park, visit www.masondixonpark.net.
The Greene County Photography Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Waynesburg Bible Chapel located on Greene Street. Club members are reminded to bring three photos for this month’s photo challenge “Aircraft.” New members are welcome.
First Church of God, West Newton, will hold its Peach Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Sewickley Grange located on Route 136. The menu will include hot dogs, sloppy Joes, barbeque pulled pork, baked beans, potato or macaroni salad, cake, ice cream, free refills on beverages and fresh peaches, including peach cobbler.
Chili Challenge Cookoff to benefit Monongahela Area Historical Society will be held Sept. 29 at Ripples on the Creek on Dry Run Road. The cookoff is open to the first 25 restaurants, diners, cafes, pizzarias, clubs and fire houses to apply. Applications, including $50 entry fee, Serve Safe license and proof of insurance, are due by Sept. 1. Event posters will be provided to participating businesses. Vendors may provide takeout containers for selling chili. The winner will receive a plaque to display for a year and monetary award. Awards for second and third will be a percent of the entry fees.
