A community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, in Rogersville United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall. Dinner choices include Sloppy Joe or hot dog, potato, macaroni or pasta salad, baked beans, dessert and drink. There is no charge for dinner, but donations are accepted. Carryout will be available. Rogersville’s Annual Town-Wide Yard Sale will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1. The Center Township VFD Auxiliary will sell food and drinks beginning at 9. Table space is available inside the fire hall at a cost of $10 per table or in the parking lot for $5 for table, on a first come-first served basis. The auxiliary will accept donations of “sellable” items prior to that date. To reserve table space, donate items or for information, call 724-833-0180 or 724-499-5385.
A 5K Run/Walk for Autism, sponsored by Evan’s Destination Day Camp in Uniontown, will be held Saturday, Sept. 29. This noncompetitive run/walk benefits the Highland Hospital Regional Center for Autism, whose students received specialized educational instruction in a safe, supportive setting. The 5K Event will be held along the newly opened section of the Sheepskin Trail spanning parts of Uniontown and South Union Township. The start/finish line is located on the grounds of the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club in Brownfield. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The Run/Walk follows at 10.
