DeWalt – 100 years
Anna Mae DeWalt of Strabane celebrated her 100th birthday with a family dinner at Napoli’s Restaurant in Washington.
Mrs. DeWalt was born in Carnegie on December 5, 1918, and is a lifelong resident of Strabane.
In her younger days, she managed a beauty shop in McMurray and worked as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She still volunteers for the local food bank.
Mrs. DeWalt has cut down her garden to just six tomato plants and some cucumbers. She loves to crochet and work on jigsaw puzzles. A lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Canonsburg, she has many nieces and nephews spread out across the country.
