Carmichaels to participate in Wreaths Across America

On Saturday, Dec. 15, members of the Carmichaels community and surrounding areas will gather at Laurel Point Cemetery beginning at noon to honor veterans during the holiday season as part of the annual Wreaths Across America Day. This year’s theme is “Be Their Witness.” The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club has volunteered to conduct the WAA ceremony for the 8th consecutive year. Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember those who served. This year, club members and volunteers will lay 339 wreaths on the graves of the veterans buried at the cemetery. The American Legion Post 400 Honor Guard will participating in the ceremony. The American Legion Post 400 Band, under the direction of Frank Ricco, will begin playing military selections at 11:30 a.m. near the monument at the cemetery. Frank Ricco will serve as master of ceremony and Senior Judge H. Terry Grimes will be the guest speaker.
