Urgent need for blood, platelet donors

With a seasonal decline in donations, the American Red Cross is in urgent need of blood and platelet donors. Upcoming donation opportunities include:

  • Bridgeville – 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 31, Hampton Inn Pittsburgh, 150 Old Pond Road
  • Greensboro – 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 20, Mapletown High School, 1000 Mapletown Road
  • Jefferson – 2:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 10, Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, 1483 Jefferson Road
  • Waynesburg – 1 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 26, American Legion Post James Farrell Post 330, 676 E. High Street; 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 8, Greene County Vo-Tech, 60 Zimmerman Drive
  • Avella – 9:30 to 2 p.m. Dec. 31, Avella Volunteer Fire Department, 1560 Avella Road
  • Canonsburg – 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 14, Holiday Inn Express, 4000 Horizon Vue Drive
  • Monongahela – 12:30 to 6 p.m. Dec. 28, American Legion Post 949, 1940 Route 2023
  • Washington – 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 26, American Legion Post 175, 168 Park Avenue

Those donating Dec. 20-Jan. 6 will receive a long-sleeved Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.
