Appreciation dinner held
The All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) Chapter 156, both of Canonsburg, hosted a Military Appreciation dinner Nov. 4 in the church hall. Over 120 people attended, including 47 veterans, five of which served in World War II. Also in attendance were 14 widows of deceased veterans and four members of the community who are now on active duty serving in the military. Distinguished guests who presented citations of appreciation were newly elected judge and Ahepan, Brandon Neuman of Canonsburg; Canonsburg Mayor David Rhome; North Strabane Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Brian Spicer; and AHEPA Supreme Governor Cleon Kordistos. Other noted speakers were banquet chairman, Nick Scouloukas and Father George Livanos. The principal guest speaker was the Director of Veterans Affairs for Washington County, Susan Meighen.
