Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, 10 Children’s Way, Pittsburgh, will host several programs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration.

“On Freedom Corner” will be held in the Art Studio. Freedom Corner, the historic corner of the Centre and Crawford avenues, is a symbol of the home of the Civil Rights Movement in Pittsburgh. Participants can create collages using images from movement and write an idea worth fighting for on a picket sign and pose in front of a collage mural.

“King for a Day,” to be held in the lobby from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will allow guests to read the speeches of Dr. King at the microphone. Hosted by the Saturday Light Brigade Radio Show, the program is open to all ages.

The Saturday Light Brigade Radio Studio will present a live, five-hour webcast exploring civil rights accomplishments, challenges and dreams for the future. Hosted by area teens, Streaming Justice will originate from the SLB Radio studios in the Children’s Museum and feature music, conversation and phone calls. The program will air live at www.youthexpress.org or via the TuneIn or SimpleRadio apps. For additional information, contact Jon Bindley at jon@slbradio.org.

“I Have A Dream” Collaborative Metal Sculpture will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in MAKESHOP. Create a metal sculpture that pays tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and his famous speech: “I Have a Dream.” Pick a favorite quote and punch it into metal sheeting, or add texture and shapes to the surface of the sculpture. When it’s finished, the sculpture will be featured in MAKESHOP through the end of February to celebrate Black History Month.

Programs are included in the cost of admission. For more information, call 412-322-5058 or visit www.pittsburghkids.org.
