Bentworth School District, Bentleyville, will hold kindergarten registration for the 2018-19 school year on Feb. 27 and 28. Children registering for kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Children registering for first grade must be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1. Children currently attending kindergarten at Bentworth will not need to register for first grade. If children are registering for the first time, parents must provide documents at the time of registration and copies are acceptable. Documents needed are: birth certificate, immunization records and two documents to prove residency. All documentation must be provided during registration. Parents and guardians must call the elementary office to schedule an appointment on or before Feb. 20. Registration, testing and health information will take approximately 30 minutes. The Jack Frost Snowball will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Washington Elks Lodge, 185 E. Maiden Street. The charity event will include dinner, dancing, auctions and cash bar. 84 Marketplace, a fundraiser for Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church, is held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second Saturday of each month, beginning March 10. The marketplace will run through October. Crafters and vendors are being sought for the flea and farmers markets, with indoor and outdoor spaces available. The Martha Washington Quilters Guild will hold its monthly business meeting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Church of the Covenant, third floor, 267 E. Beau St., Washington. Guests are welcome.
Little Lake Theatre Company, 500 Lakeside Dr. South, Canonsburg, will conduct “I Can Do That!” acting classes from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays from Jan. 23 to March 27, with a final showcase performance on March 28. The Bridgeville Area Historical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, in the Chartiers Room of Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department on Commercial Street. The program, “Lion in the White House: A Biography of Teddy Roosevelt” will be presented by Dr. John Auberle.
