Jefferson Township Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the White Church, located in Eldersville across from the fire hall, weather permitting. The address for GPS directions is 12 Fire Road, Burgettstown.

Guest speaker will be Thomas Zielinsky, who wrote “Rockyside, A Forgotten Mining Community,” about the little community that existed on a hillside overlooking the Ohio River for more than 50 years. Nearly 300 men, women and children lived in Rockyside before moving to the little town of New Cumberland, W.Va. The book looks back to when clay was first discovered and follows 150 years of brick-making and industry-building in New Cumberland.

Meetings are open to the public. For information, call 724-947-9782.
