Mon Valley business owners will host a Glitter & Gold event on Feb. 1 at Jazzy Boutique in North Belle Vernon.

Free prom gowns will be distributed during the event, which is sponsored by Jazzy Boutique, 1049 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon; Vintage to Vogue Boutique; Perked Up Café; Salon Eye Candy; Tricia Caputo Jewelry Designs; and the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce.

For the first year, the event will include only students from Belle Vernon Area School District. Organizers hope the event will grow and will be open to other school districts within the Mon Valley. Over the past several months, Jazzy Boutique has been collecting prom gowns and special occasion dresses to make this event a success.

Those who attend will be treated to an evening of pampering, including piano music by Sue Edwards, makeup and hair demonstrations with mini-manicures from Salon Eye Candy, treats and gourmet coffee from Perked Up Café and jewelry selections from Tricia Caputo Jewelry Designs.

Although the event is free to the students that will be invited through the school district, any monetary donations made at the Glitter & Gold Event will benefit Belle Vernon Area School District’s Back Pack Program.
