Help is needed at the Food Bank at Calvin U.P. Church, located at 307 Spring St., Brownsville. Assistance is needed at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 26 to unload food, and again at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 27 to distribute food. Food distribution begins at 10. The next distribution date is Feb. 24.
The Friday Evening Music Club of the Greensburg area announces its January recital, set for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Campana Chapel and Lecture Hall on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg (UPG). This recital will feature some of the top music students of several FEMC members, along with last year’s Mildred Gardner scholarship winner. They represent excellence at many levels, from sixth grade through college. Admission is free to club members and voluntary donations are accepted from non-members at the door. Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a roast pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 26 in Jefferson Community Center. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 forchildren 12 and under. Menu includes mashed potatoes, gravy, applesauce, pickled beets, rolls, desserts and beverage. Takeout is available.
