Spencer Family YMCA, 305 Church Road, Bethel Park, has announced several upcoming events.

In partnership with Family Tyes, the YMCA presents Outdoor 101, a program to get families outdoors. No skill required. Experts will guide participants to enjoy hiking, camping or just being outside. Each session, held once a week for six weeks, tackles a new topic, such as fire building, knot tying, outdoor cooking, critters in the wild and leave no trace principles.

Classes, which begin Jan. 31, are from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. The program culminates with an optional guided day hike in South Park.

Individual classes are $35 per family, the full course is $200. Families with children ages 4 and up are welcome. YMCA members receive a discount. Call 412-347-6565 to register or for more information.

The YMCA is accepting registration for summer day camp. Camps run June 11-Aug. 24 at North Strabane Park or Harrison Middle School in Baldwin. Visit www.ycamps.org or call 412-833-5600 for more information.

The YMCA  is looking for counselors to work during summer camps. They will be responsible for daily programs and supervision of a group of ten children. Candidates must be 18 or older. Contact Andy Pricener at cloverleafdaycamp@ymcapgh.org for information.
