The Greene County Department of Recreation is offering problem-solving sessions for children ages 9 to 11 who are looking to spark imaginative learning after school. Teachers Kate Hillsman and Crystal Pratt will lead children in hands-on science programs at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Greene County Fairgrounds. Each session is $5. Activities are designed to present a child with a problem to solve using limited resources. Classes may be canceled because of lack of participation or inclement weather. Announcements will be made on WANB Radio and the Greene County Commissioners Facebook page. To register, call 724-852-5323 or visit www.co.greene.pa.us.

A community dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington. The menu will include creamed chicken & biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or fruit, dessert and beverage. A free-will offering will be accepted and proceeds will benefit local charities and church ministries. Carryout is available. For information, call 724-222-7180.
