West Greene Lions names outstanding students
The West Greene Lions Club recently recognized four West Greene High School students as outstanding students. They are Bailey Machesky, Gina Mankey, Linzee Stover and Madison Renner.
Machesky, daughter of Brian and Abby Machesky of Waynesburg, is vice president of the class of 2018, secretary of the science club and sergeant at arms for the National Honor Society. She also is a member of the student government association, international club, drama club, prom committee and ski club and is a peer mentor. She is a two-year letterman in both volleyball and track. She plans to attend California University of Pennsylvania and major in elementary education and special education.

Madison Renner
Mankey, daughter of Timothy and Dawn Mankey of Sycamore, is president of both the National Honor Society and drama club and is a member of the ski club. Mankey broke a record in javelin in 2017 and was most valuable player in girl’s track and field in 2017. She plans to attend Colorado Christian University. She has not decided on a major.
Stover, daughter of Jeff and Sheila Stover of Rogersville, is treasurer of the class of 2018 and a member of the National Honor Society, science club, drama club, student government association, ski club, barnyard and prom committee. She is a peer mentor. Stover is a four-year letterman in volleyball and a three-year letterman in softball. She is a Girl Scout. Stover plans to attend West Virginia University and work toward a master’s degree in occupational therapy.
Renner, daughter of Jon and Misty Renner of Wind Ridge, is a peer mentor and a member of the ski club and envirothon team. She is a three-year letterman of the softball team and holds school and state records. Renner plans to attend Muskingum University and major in environmental science.
