First Christian Church, 615 E. Beau St., Washington, will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Parent Group – Southwestern Local Task Force 1 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the IU1 Central office. A meeting to discuss the planning of the West Newton Community Festival will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gary’s on South Second Street in West Newton. More help is needed with the planning of this event. This meeting is also for groups that want to set up booths.

Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold Homeschool Outdoor Classroom: Animal Architecture at 1 p.m. Feb. 8, at Shelter 4, Mingo Creek Park. Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at Peters Township Public Library. The deadline for the PennDOT Innovations Challenge has been extended through Feb. 16. The challenge asks students to look at technologies and innovative methods, aside from traditional paid advertising, marketing and social media channels, that can be developed in the next five to ten years to curb unsafe teen driving practices. World Heritage International Student Exchange Program is seeking representatives to work with volunteer host families and international exchange students in the community. Students are 15 to 18 years old and have passed a series of academic and character requirements. Area representatives recruit and screen prospective host families, supervise the exchange students in their community throughout the year and interview American students who wish to spend a semester, year or summer abroad. Area representatives are compensated based on the number of students they are supervising, including opportunities to earn bonuses. The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation is calling for entries for its 30th annual Robert L. Vann Media Awards, which will recognize professional excellence in print, photography, broadcast and online coverage of African-American and African Diaspora communities, individuals and issues of Western Pennsylvania. The entry deadline for the professional contest is 11:59 p.m. Feb. 21. All entries must have been published, posted online, or broadcast in 2017. Rules and instructions for entering the contest – open to all news professionals in 29 counties of Western Pennsylvania – are available at www.pbmf.org.
