Summerfest scheduled
St. Damien of Molokai Parish’s 7th Annual SummerFest will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. July 20 and 21, at 722 W. Main Street, Monongahela. Live entertainment will include NOMaD from 7:30 to 10:30 Friday and the Pittsburgh Bel Airs from 7 to 10:30 Saturday. There will also be a bake sale, bingo, basket raffle, children’s and adult games and small games of chance. Food items will include Italian, Slovak and American foods, wings, pizza, funnel cakes, ice cream, barbeque, hand-cut fries, Italian ice, fresh-squeezed lemonade and other refreshments. There will be free admission and parking. On Saturday, a Mass in the park will begin at 4 p.m.
’Gigantic Garage Sale’ benefits St. Benedict
The Women of St. Benedict’s “Gigantic Garage Sale” will be held on Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 16-18, at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Drive, McMurray. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. A variety of special sales will take place on Friday and a $5 bag sale will be held on Saturday. Refreshments are available. Proceeds benefit St. Benedict the Abbot and Women of St. Benedict activities and local charities.
Fall festival planned
Avery United Methodist Church, 1100 Gabby Avenue, Washington, will hold a fall festival Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21 and 22. Friday’s events begin at 5:30 p.m. and include a chili cook off, bonfire and movies on the lawn. On Saturday there will be vendors, food, games for kids and music from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call 724-225-0632.
