The Greene County Conservation District, in cooperation with Waynesburg Borough, will hold rain barrel workshops on the following dates and times: 6 p.m. July 24; 6 p.m. July 26; 9 a.m. July 28; and 6 p.m. Aug. 2. The free workshops, open to all Greene County residents, will be held at the borough maintenance yard on First Street in Waynesburg.

Purchasing a premanufactured rain barrel can be expensive. Participants in the workshop will construct their own rain barrel from materials provided by the Conservation District.

Also discussed will be other practices that property owners can implement alongside their new rain barrel to reduce runoff, erosion and water pollution.
