Old Trails BPW awards scholarships
On June 11, Old Trails Business and Professional Women’s Club awarded scholarships to three recent high school graduates.
The Pam Antonio Memorial Scholarship was given to Katelyn Valla from Charleroi, who graduated third in her class and will attend Hood College, majoring in environmental science. The daughter of Mary and Joseph Valla, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Academic League, STEM Club president, among others.
The Helen Harkins Memorial Scholarship was presented to Dominic Clutter of Beth-Center. He will attend Youngstown State University Honors College, majoring in industrial engineering. The son of Roselle and Lonnie Clutter, he was valedictorian with a Q.P.A. of 4.7. His activities included marching band, STEM, Hometown High Q, varsity soccer and track, National Honor Society and more.
Also receiving the Helen Harkins Memorial Scholarship was Christopher Woessner of Benworth, son of Mary and Raymond Woessner. Christopher will attend Villanova University to major in mechanical engineering. A member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and Boy Scouts of America where he earned Eagle Scout ranking, he was also in the marching, jazz and concert bands.
