Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church will hold a golf outing Saturday at Rolling Green Golf Course, 2426 Route 136, Eighty Four. A four-person best ball blind scramble will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Dinner and prizes will be given after outing. Cost is $80 per person or $320 per team. Checks should be made payable to Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church. For more information, call 724-225-3431.
Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a Butterfly Walk at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mingo Creek Park. Meet in the Shelter 1 parking lot. A limited number of butterfly nets and collecting jars will be available. Those participating in the walk should dress for light hiking and bring a bottle of water. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 724-228-6867.
The Mon Valley Academy for the Arts will hold the third concert of its Chess Park Summer Concert Series from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 5 at the park gazebo and featuring a Big Band Jazz theme. The “Joe Campus” Band will perform from 1 to 2:30. The second act will be the 40-piece “Mon Valley Community Band. Sam Thong, caricature artist, will be at the event. Greene County Composite Squadron 606 will hold its first Change of Command Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6. Change of Command is a time-honored ceremony designed to mark the occasion when the responsibility of command is passed to the incoming commander. It is one of the most formal ceremonies conducted. The public is invited to attend the event, to be held at the Waynesburg VFW Post 4793, 445 E. Lincoln St., Waynesburg.
