Bentworth to honor 81 graduates

Bentworth High School will hold commencement exercises for 81 graduates Thursday in the gymnasium.

Speaking at the ceremony will be valedictorian Jenna Nicole Vito, salutatorian Logan Conrad Rossell and senior class president Maria Sophia Dovshek.

Vito is the daughter of Anthony and Jennifer Vito of Bentleyville. Among her awards are the Washington County Community Foundation Olivia Scott Scholarship, Bentleyville Lioness Scholarship, Bentworth Parent Teacher Organization Scholarship, P.O.C.A. Scholarship and the Spirit of Alex Scholarship. Vito also earned the Scholar Athlete Award, PHEAA Merit Award, Girl Scout Silver and Bronze Awards and is a Mid Mon Valley Sports Hall of Fame, Bentworth and Herald Standard Winter Scholar Athlete. Vito participated in volleyball, basketball, junior council, senior council, student council, yearbook club, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honors Society and Girl Scouts. She plans to attend West Virginia University to study chemical engineering.

Rossell is the son of John and Laura Rossell of Bentleyville. Among his awards are the Bentworth Parent Teacher Organization Scholarship, P.O.C.A. Scholarship, Spirit of Alex Scholarship, Alex’s Love of Soccer Scholarship and the President’s Gold Award. Rossell was involved in soccer, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Peer Jury and band. He plans to attend Washington & Jefferson College to study accounting.
