BPOE Lodge 2213, 2789 South Park Road, Bethel Park, will host a Flag Day ceremony at 1 p.m. Sunday. There will be an outdoor flag-raising ceremony, with involvement by the Boy Scouts and Young Marines. Inside the lodge, there will be patriotic singing and poems, a reading of the history of the flag and comments by local political leaders. A light lunch will be available after the service.
Canonsburg Friends of the Park and the park board announces its lineup for the 2018 summer music season. All concerts will be performed from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Concerts on the Italian American Stage include: The Stickers, Sunday; Jeff Jamerson, July 8; Shades of Time, Aug. 12; Washington Jazz Orchestra, Sept. 9. Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a Needle and Yarn Craft Workshop at 10 a.m. June 13 at Shelter 4, Mingo Creek County Park. Create your own sugar scrub, body lotion and facial mask. Participants are asked to bring unused jars. This program will also be the annual summer picnic. Bring a cookout dish and recipe. Refreshments and hot dogs will be provided. Fee is $4. Preregistration is required by calling the park office at 724-228-6867.
West Newton Center for Active Adults has a trip to Altoona and Johnstown planned June 27. Board the bus in West Newton and travel to Greensburg to board an Amtrak train for Altoona. Cost of $100 includes bus, driver tip, train ticket, lunch, flood museum ticket and dinner. Cancellations will only be accepted if a replacement is found. Full payment is required for a reservation. South Fayette Township Parks & Recreation will offer a day trip to Rocky Gap Casino June 27. Bus departs from South Fayette Senior Center at 515 Millers Run Road at 7:30 a.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per person.
